A/N: A little drabble that somewhat reflected my emotions when I read the passage where Voldemort was finally defeated. It is so hard to cheer when so much was lost...
===============================

Because so many had fallen.

Some were glorified, their deeds sung in folklores ~
Like that mother, in the face of evil, to save the life of her newborn
Or that sage, in hands trembling with fear, to illustrate mercy to an intact soul.

Then there were those forgotten ~
Like that witch, on her knees, pleading for a vow
Or that pariah, in love, pledging quiet allegiance to her son.

Thus there were no commotion, no earth shattering cheers when Voldemort fell.
For the hearts that had dwelled upon the fallen had, like Voldemort’s soul, long since fallen apart.
