After the Muggles attacked her, Ariana Dumbledore’s blue eyes were vacant and she smiled an empty, Kewpie doll smile, as if she were frozen in the last seconds of her innocence.
Her mind was gone, but her magic remembered. After the attack, Ariana walked in the heart of a whirlwind. Sometimes it just a charge in air, but sometimes it exploded into a storm that raged around her, a swirling bedlam of spells.
If this was a testament to her lingering anger, Ariana herself seemed oblivious to it. In the midst of the maelstrom, she was placid as a doll.
