“It’s time…” Hermione’s voice at his shoulder was silk-wrapped steel, her closeness a comfort.
“No,” he growled. “I lost Ron. I won’t lose you, too.”
“You can’t finish him without it.” He nearly wept when she laid a hand between his shoulder blades and murmured the spell he’d begged that she never cast. The fire of her power and love filled him with strength, her touch barely gone before he used her gift as she’d asked.
