Hermione was not particularly easy to shame. She’d held her own again against years of disparaging remarks against her breeding, her intelligence, her choice of friends.
Yet these days her every action, word, and breathe was tinged with it.
She often told herself that Lucius Malfoy had only had her for one day, that was nothing compared to everything Harry had been through.
And yet she’d let them hide her away anyway and the thought of ever leaving this haven crippled her.
So she’d sit out the war, and perhaps someday she’d find a way to live with her shame.
