“Malfoy?”  A breath. “Draco, why?”

A raised eyebrow was his only reply.

“You were Voldemort’s favorite, and yet you risked your life to save me.  Why?”

An exhausted sigh.  “That’s the thing about people like you, Potter.  You do great things, but you’re oblivious as well.  You’re so busy being larger-than-life heroes, you never look back and see the massive shadows you cast behind you--or those of us that are left to try and live in those shadows.”

Draco turned away, ending the conversation.

So deep in thought was he that Harry barely noticed as the ferry left Azkaban.
