When they were little girls, they used to dress up their dolls in the beautiful scraps of the bolts of cloths used for their best dresses. They laughed prettily as they made up stories of princesses and dragons and witches and handsome heroes.
As they grew older, they grew apart. They were truly different in both appearance and temperament; they took different paths and almost never talked to each other again.
No one probably saw Petunia weep unabashedly when she saw her sister’s son at her doorstep swadled in the very material that they used to dress their dolls with.
