The high-pitched giggles of merriment erupted from the various crowds of people, obliterating Hermione’s plans of enjoying a harmonious evening.
“Why, if it isn‘t Hermione herself!”
The young witch turned around to face Pavarti Patil.
Oh no…
“Isn‘t this party such fun?”
“Indeed,” Hermione replied blandly. “Most invigorating.”
Pavarti stared at her before replying sheepishly, “you’re starting to sound like that husband of yours.”
And, speaking of husbands…
“There is…no need for such frivolity,” a soft voice sneered silkily, startling Pavarti. “You would do well to remember that…Granger. Now, come here. Your assistance is required.”
