She was an intimidating lady to most. Her own grandson found her to be fearsome, though not nearly so fearsome as Severus Snape. She was not afraid of saying what she thought, and of doing what she felt was right.
Neither was the lady she was having tea with. This other was a more severe, a prim woman. Like the first, she held herself to higher standards than most.
Perhaps that’s why they were friends. Neither feared the other, and they both held to high standards.
“Minerva, would you be so kind as to pass the sugar?”
“Of course, Augusta.”
