“You’re lucky today’s a bank holiday, else I wouldn’t have come all this way to King’s Cross,” Vernon said sourly. He surveyed the three teenagers in front of him: his nephew, whose infernal hair was sticking up even worse due to the humidity; a gangly red-head who looked like he was itching to leave; a slim girl who kept shooting dark looks at the other boy from under her bushy hair.
“Thank you for bringing my things, Uncle Vernon,” Harry said. He motioned to the other two, who immediately went to the trunk and helped unload the carelessly packed boxes.

“Explain to me again what she means by mortgage rates,” Ron hissed after the financial consultant left the room to let them confer.
“Basically, we borrow money from them to buy the house, and then we pay it back with interest,” Hermione explained. “So far, this bank’s offered us the best rate. They want us to pay 4.5% compounded monthly, while the other bank wants 5%.”
Ron slumped in his chair. “I still think we should have gone through Gringotts. Bill could get us a fantastic deal.”
“Don’t be silly, Ronald. We can’t pay for a Muggle house with Galleons.”
