They grew up with powers beyond those of ordinary people, regardless of what one considers ordinary.
They grew up without cautious guidelines, without caring guardians, without guidance.
They grew up feeling wronged. Feeling unlucky, unloved and utterly determined to ensure that no one else would ever suffer the same fate.
The methods they employed were straightforward. Wipe out the cause of their misery.
The mess, the deaths and blood that followed wiping out half the population is well known to all to you dear reader.
Tom Marvolo Riddle and Harry James Potter warped the world because they had bad childhoods.

Alice hid Neville under the bed just before the Death Eaters entered the room.
“Where is it Frank?” Bella demanded with a familiarity that iced Alice’s blood.
“Aren’t you Crouch’s kid?” Frank inquired.
“Yeah he is, where’s the horcrux?”
“Say please Bella baby.”
“Hand over the cup Frank.”
“Oh alright, its over in th-” Frank screamed, his eyes rolling to the back of his head as he fell into the fetal position. Useless he twitched on the floor.
Bella raised her eyes, “Never thought you had it in you Alice.”
“What can I say? I was born to be bad.”

Characters: Neville
Challenge: Born to be Bad

AN: Sort of a sequel to ‘Hidden’
From out of sight Neville had seen his father tortured. Heard the screams.
He’d watched his mother be tortured from the same spot. Seen the blood.
Later he’d watched his ‘friends’ run out the door after paralyzing him.
He’d seen hexes thrown around as if they were nothing at school at the ministry.
He had worked very hard on perfecting his own.
Later Neville watched the green light from his wand from behind a mask.
When the war was over no one could recall which of the Death Eaters had killed Hermione.
After all, Neville had a really bad memory.

Their twin souls were cold. Like elves.
Not house elves but true elves, that thought no more of housework than they did of death. That thought fun was defined by how long it amused them, not by what broke along the way.
Sure they were on the side of the light, it had more benefits just now. Plus it was funny how only Granger thought their methods were, bluntly, cruel.
When they caught Bella she experienced pain for the first time.
It lasted till they got bored and she was left broken in a way would have appalled even Augusta.
