I loved the Sirius one. It was amazingly in character.

However, Draco and Lucius...

First, with Lucius, Azkaban was broken into before he was caught. The Dementors were long gone. And Lucius is not ashamed of being a Death Eater - quite the reverse, actually.

With Draco... as of book seven, he's not going to be at Hogwarts, nor Hermione. Before book seven, do you really think he'd have let Hermione cry alone? I think he would've tortured her into even more tears with jibes and such.

Thanks!

And, crap, I totally forgot about that...grrr.

As for Draco, hell, maybe he was having a sympathetic moment.

No offense, but I really don't see Draco as capable of having one of those. His idea of sympathy is thinking "Mudbloods deserved to die like OMG."

None taken.

I believe Draco is not fully corrupted yet. He might not have even realized it was Hermione.

The guy jokes about people dying. That's corrupted.

And maybe he didn't realize it was Hermione. He wouldn't care.

Draco Dormiens isn't canon. PS/SS, CoS, PoA, GoF, OoTP and HBP, all in which Draco showed sympathy for the Dark Side and derision towards anyone petty enough to cry (albeit crying in HBP and not killing DD, but still), are canon.

Sorry, but you've got to consider the books when writing things like this. If you don't, unless you specify it as intentionally non-canon, reviewers don't really care if you think Draco secretly has a sensitive side. That's heavily contradicted in canon. If you don't think it is, have the fic explain that.

Get mean about it, why don't you?

You have your world view, I have mine. Both of us choose to interpret canon in different ways. There is nothing wrong with that.

I have been known, from time to time, to make jokes about people dying. Does that make me evil? Not hardly.

And, thank you very much, but I have read the books. All of them. Multiple times (with the exception of HBP). Just because someone is evil through and through does not mean that they will automatically jump down the throat of someone showing weakness. That's what animals do, not humans.

If you don't like it, no one is forcing you to read it.

Sorry if I came across as mean.

I am sure you have read the books. Obviously - the other prompts actually suggest you've read them many times. They're great.

I just feel that this fic isn't like Draco, and you need to go into depth with that. You need to explore who he is in your interpretation in compliance with canon. And I'm sorry - canon does not suggest he watches Hermione cry with sympathy.

And making jokes about death... do you go to people who lost their parents and imply they deserved it? Rub in the death of a classmate? Of course not.

As for nobody forcing me to read it - I know that. I'm just disagreeing with your concept. I'm not saying you're a bad writer - you're a very good one. You introduced a fic, I didn't agree with the premise, and those were my reasons.

Again, sorry if I came across as overly harsh.I didn't intend to. I just feel that there could be much improvement, especially if you tried harder to make it canon compliant. And again, if you don't want to, state that.

And I apologize for snapping at you. It was, admittedly, undeserved and uncalled for on my part ( ... )
