Title: The Life of Schoolboys
House: Ravenclaw
Word Count: 100
Challenge: Map of the World
Characters/Pairings: Harry
Author's Notes: This is somewhat weird and abstract, set in the future war-time. The title is vaguely inspired by Boy's Life by Robert R. McCammon.
__________

The frame of the mirror is ornate gold, carved with runes and figures of the past, none of it having any meaning anymore.

The castle seems abandoned, Harry being used to it filled with students and teachers and life. But he understands that it’s a safe place for what’s left of the Order.

He stares into glass, dreaming of climbing through gold-framed windows, escaping what used to be his school. The Lake has swelled to the foundations of the castle, and he thinks he can see his reflection there, shimmering, smoking, staring up at him from the irrevocable darkness below.
