In her cell Bella was screaming; she was the only one sane enough to do so.
He pondered remaining human.
Letting them take the memories he still had.
Letting the vision of Peters smile before he turned rat fade, the recollection of his suggesting Peter as secret keeper, dim. Tempting.
Yet it meant forever fixating on what was still, after all these years, his worst memory.
They were nearer now.
“You told Snape?” Sirius winced, “I trusted you.”
And Padfoot whimpered.
