"Petunia, please bring me the post," Mum called from the kitchen.
Petunia looked up from her magazine to glare at Lily. "Get the mail."
"Mum asked you!" Lily protested.
"And I'm telling you!"
Lily got to her feet, grumbling. In the hall, the post had fallen to the floor. Lily picked it up, and frowned. The address on the top letter was written in green ink.

Lily tore the letter open. The words leapt up at her from the page. "...a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry..."
"Mum!" Lily screamed.
