Author's Notes: I've drabble something similar to this before but with the diary.
Tom rubbed his thumb over the top of the locket as he mimicked the same caress on the back. The gold had been cold when he had first taken it from the hiding place beneath the loose floorboard behind the stairs at Borgin and Burkes. Now the metal was beyond just casual warmth that it should have absorbed from Tom’s body heat. The locket had absorbed much more than just heat from Tom. He was almost sure if he was to touch it to anywhere else on his body it would brand his skin.
He began to whisper the incantation.
