The war was raging all around them. Nobody was left untouched by it. Today, however something overshadowed the war.
As he held the blue bundle in his arms he realized "I'm a father now." Of course it wasn't a shock, I've had nine months to get used to it after all. Yet it all still seemed so sudden. His son started to stir in his arms.
"He has your eyes."
"James, I think Sirius should be his godfather. Sirius will love take good care of Harry if...."
"Shh, we're not going anywhere Lily, I promise."
"I love you James."
"I love you too Lily."
