A year of deception; she hated what she'd earned. Twenty year old Merope forced herself down the muggle streets, each step harder than the last.
At the end of the street, Merope staggered up a set of stairs. A woman in the doorway caught Merope as she fell to the floor.

"Another push, honey," Merope heard though her fog. Extreme pain swept over her body; she screamed.
A moment later a crying blanket was handed to Merope. Eyeing her little boy's face, she whispered "Tom for his father...Marvolo for my father... Tom Marvolo Riddle..."
Merope Gaunt died shortly after.
