“You did this.” James, his eyes full of bewilderment and hurt.
“We trusted you.” Lily, a tear on the side of her face.
“Was it ever real?” Sirius, his grey eyes piercing.
“What happened to you?” Remus, his face twisted in agony.
Peter’s eyes widened in horror, though they saw nothing but the faces. He writhed in pain, every fiber of his body crying for relief. The knowledge was a greater torture than any other. “I did this.” He rasped. His final words before he died.
Harry stood above his body. “Goodbye, Pettigrew.”
