He had set his feet on the path long before he had ever heard of Death Eaters. His difficult home life, coupled with the torments of the other children at school had only reinforced his decision. When he was young, he had direction- he knew where he was going.
And he gloried in it. He loved, sought the praise for his capabilities, his brilliance with potions. Then his tip had led to the death of James Potter and his wife- and rather than rejoicing at the death of his enemy, he saw the direction his path was leading. To Azkaban.
