Igor bought a different foe-glass at each market he passed, sure that buying them all at once would attract attention. When he finally felt he had enough he found himself a tiny shack halfway up a hill and hung them on every wall.
He had to remove the mirrors, and even the glass from the windows. The repeated shock of a clear reflection after growing used to the foe-glasses was too wearing.
Then he waited. He knew death was approaching.
He knew something else.
If his enemies dared enter his house, he’d make them see his face in every glass.
