Regulus never told his brother that ‘Regulus’ also meant ‘heart of the lion’. He wasn’t in Gryffindor. He was everything that was required of him. Everything that Sirius had chosen not to be.
The Black Prince.
He was quite content with his royal status.
Until he discovered Voldemort’s secret, and his own with it.
And when he understood that he could no longer stand living as Prince Regulus, he decided to be lion-hearted, after all.
