I walk through the crowded clearing, my cloak swirling around me as dark as the ink that is going to stain my soul.
I reach the one who will be my Master, my knees buckling to kneel before him as the skin of my arm shines pale and unsullied beneath the full moon.
Pain shoots through my blood like fire as ink falls from wood and cruel magic wraps around my very being.
The Lord lifts me to my feet and a snake of blackened flesh graces my arm.
My new family smiles behind cold masks and I feel loved.

Late, wrapped in tears I fall asleep and in dreams I surrender to fate.
Standing in the gray I hear whispering.
They both want me for their sides, but I'm not taken in.
In a corner all alone in emptiness, the closest things I have for friends come fill me with an inner bliss.
With each other we feel desire, our hearts lit with forgotten fire.
Wrapped between them in a unbefitting way, comforted with tales of tomorrow, I feel loved.
