Author's Notes: I meant to try and write Lex Luther and ended up with this instead. The title is inspired by The Dance.
I watch him watching them dance, a hunger in his eyes despite the distant look of disgust gracing his face.
I see that want to be wanted, to be loved, as strong as a starving man's want for food get push away, hidden behind hard, sharp words and stormy behavior.
If you didn't know him, didn't watch him, you'd think he was cold and heartless, but after a while you start to see that his act's a cage built so long ago to protect his heart from the pain of living that he doesn't even realize that's what's crushing it.
