Characters: Remus Lupin, Sirius Black
Author's Notes: Set in the marauder days, Remus decides to play cards with Sirius.
“Moony, these muggle games are confusing.” Sirius grumbled, “why is it called ‘war?’ bits of paper aren’t war-like.”
“Cards Padfoot, cards.” Remus shook his head, “and I told you, a jack doesn’t beat a king-” He snatched two cards from the table.
“What does?”
“An ace of course- the one with the ‘A’ on it,” Remus added hastily as Sirius glowered. “Don’t pout like that, draw your card.”
The game progressed, and Remus grew suspicious.
“Padfoot, you cannot always have aces.”
“Why?”
“There are only four per deck.”
Remus laughed as his friend dropped the cards in disgust and left.
