Title: Polished Lenses
House: Gryffindor
Rating: PG
Characters: James and Lily
Challenge: Constant Vigilance
Word Count: 100
A/N: See? I CAN write happy fluff.

James loved wearing glasses. Of course, he would never admit that to anyone, ever. He loved hiding behind the polished lenses and he could watch people without them knowing. Especially Evans.

She twigged onto that not long after they started dating and ragged him about it constantly.

One night, however, he took off his glasses.

“What are you doing?” Lily asked, confused, “You can’t see without your glasses?”

James smiled and rubbed his thumb across the palm of her hand, “Yes, but I cannot hide behind them either.” Gracefully, considering that he was working blind, he dropped to one knee...

Title: Vigilant Dreams
House: Gryffindor
Rating: PG
Characters: Ginny
Challenge: Constant Vigilance
Word Count: 100
A/N: Eh, she’s dreaming about Tom.

She didn’t want to sleep anymore. Not after that.

She tried drinking pots of tea with loads of sugar, all that did was give her a screaming headache in the morning. She tried pacing the halls, all that got her was detention with Filch ... which she slept through. She tried charming her clothes with a freezing spell, only to give herself frostbite.

Nothing stopped the dreams. They just adapted.

Madam Pomfrey finally intervened. Pomfrey never understood why Ginny had hysterics when she told her about the sleeping draught but, then again, Pomfrey never had to stop herself from dreaming.

Title: Bitter Betrayal
House: Gryffindor
Rating: PG
Characters: Harry
Challenge: Constant Vigilance
Word Count: 100
A/N: Just so you all know, Harry is married to Hermione after she left Ron. Goes with Unflinchingly below but stands alone well. Inspired by the Killers for some oddball reason...

He didn’t mean to watch them. But, when he passed by the partially opened door, he glanced inside and stopped, shocked.

How long he stood there, he never knew. Bitter jealousy burned deep in him, he clenched his fists and bit back the curses that leapt so easily to his tongue now. After all they had been through, after all they had done, how could they betray him? He trusted them with his life.

Fortunately for Hermione and Ron, someone else noticed.

“Come on, Harry.” Draco invited quietly, easing the door shut in front him, “I’ll buy you a drink.”

Title: Unflinchingly
House: Gryffindor
Rating: PG
Characters: Draco
Challenge: Constant Vigilance
Word Count: 100
A/N: Goes with Bitter Betrayal above but stands alone well.

Something about the way he stood there, in front of the partially opened door, stopped Draco in his tracks. He looked, well, miserable and the idea of the Hero of the Wizarding World looking this miserable was just wrong.

Glancing in, Draco was forcibly reminded of a similar situation, one that occurred a few months ago. The difference was that he barged in on Pansy and Theodore and almost killed them...

He couldn’t let him suffer like this.

“Come on, Harry.” Draco closed the door and faced, unflinchingly, the misery in the other man’s eyes, “I’ll buy you a drink.”
