I watch her, hiding behind her school books and thick glasses, she has spots on her face from worrying and her hair's tied in stringy pigtails to keep it out of her way. She's beautiful. "Oh, how tragic. I didn't know anyone could be that ugly."
Came a voice from the fifth year on my right.
"Yeah," I reply, looking at him; gangly arms and hair like a mouse's hide. "completely hideous."
I turn and see Myrtle walking towards our table and start to smile, but the fifth year's watching me and waiting, so I insult her instead and break my heart.
