Spring in the Park.
Her mother was pushing Lily on the swings, ignoring her. Her mother knew that Lilly was special.
"Mummy look how high I am!" Petunia shouted making a bid for attention.
"That's nice dear." her mother replied not looking up.
"I hate Lily." she muttered, tears staining her cheeks. Her mother heard that and Lily cried. Petunia was smacked by her mother and sent to her room. Lilly was cuddled and doted upon.
Crying she vowed that she would hate Lily for the rest of her life and that when she was a mother she'd be a better mother. So Bitter.

Beginnings
Staring at her nephew, a sleeping baby, with wild black hair and a lighting bolt scar, Petunia forgot her hatred of magic. The poor orphan, such a darling child, of course they'd take him in.
His eyes opened, Lily's eyes stared at her. Memories rushed back.
She'd take him in but he'd never be hers. The little girl on the swing so carefree and loving was gone, in it's place was a bitter shell. She swore she'd never love the child and she kept her word.
All she had to do was think of Lily.
