A/N: I'm sure he thought "Nearly Headless Nick" was cool at some point...
"Practically-Severed Nicholas" was too harsh. He wanted to appear friendly and personable. That name would surely get him ostracized.
"Do you absolutely need a name that incorporates your... uh..."
The ghost cast his smokey eyes down upon his brother. "My what?"
"Can't we just put 'Sir Nicholas'?"
"That name is so boring!" he protested. "I want a cool name like the other ghosts."
Lucas shook his head. This job application process was a nightmare.
"How about Nearly-Headless Nick?" he suggested drearily.
"Ooh, I like that, put that down!"
Fifty years later, he'd give anything to be called Sir Nicholas again.
