Luna lay back and closed her eyes.
This was it, the best rest she’d get. No dorm-mates giggling in the night, no classmates calling her names - there was no one to taunt her out here.
And she was quite comfortable; she would find it easy to sleep in the sun’s warmth.
Although she was missing one thing. Luna rolled over on the island of the giant squid’s back and dipped her face into the water. She hoped her Mermish was good enough.
A scaly arm rose from the depths and handed her a clump of weeds for a pillow.
