The most to be made of cheer in the Slytherin common room was the rush of electricity. It danced around their crisp, clean demeanours--guarded features mumbled pleasantries to housemates.
They had heard; they had known; they had seen the truth in what a member of their own could do. And some of them considered him legendary, and some considered him cowardly--Severus Snape became an idol in a house that had scorned him.
An echo of submersed memory--crowded in eerie voices of merpeople, cascading through the stone that separates them from the world--dousing their souls.

Harry huddled before the fire, watching as it blazed gold, red, orange. He waited patiently as it strengthened as the fire of passion, anger, and all things Harry never could to hold within himself.
A hand came to rest, slinking along his shoulder blade and resting in the creak of his neck. It nestled against the side of him that was intimate, the place only the wind danced with in summer and scarves brushed against in the cold. He could feel Ginny’s frown in her fingertips as she came to rest alongside him.
“Harry...”
