The new challenge is posted before the count is ready because counting takes so long that people sometimes post things after counting has begun and it can get really confusing, so the challenge post acts as a cut-off point.
I am really sorry that it took so long to put up this total (and respond to this comment). This time I was out of town. Usually I try to get the counts up the same day as the new challenge, but please remember that it can be very time consuming to check each drabble for word count and finish tallying the points and I don't always have the proper time to dedicate on a Saturday night ;) so it sometimes shows up a day or two later (though I'm really trying to make sure I get it done right away because you all really deserve that).
