Title: Cold
House: Hufflepuff
Word Count: 100
Characters: Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs
Challenge: Mauraders
Author's Notes: Werewolf obsession? What werewolf obsession? I've been waiting to write this one all week.

The moon is cold silver, a night away from full. His sweating skin shines chillingly and he wants to be back inside, in bed, maybe reading a book or sleeping off the horrible sickness and lonely foreboding about tomorrow night.

But there was James, sweeping the cloak around him and warning him not to run off without its protection, and Sirius thumping his back, reminding him that soon they'd have that Animagi thing worked out, and Peter, smiling, asking if he was alright.

Remus looked up at the moon through the gauzy cloak. Somehow, it didn't seem so cold anymore.

Title: Miracle Cure
House: Hufflepuff
Word Count: 100
Characters: Remus and his mum
Challenge: Mauraders
Author's Notes: Because I'm sick, and I hate this stupid gargling stuff the doctor gave me.

"Are you sure about this, mum?"

He'd worked with Wolfsbane plant before in potions and knew very well to keep it away from his mouth. But here he was, mum at his back, holding a goblet of another potion promising freedom for the both of them. He gave it a wary sniff.

"It doesn't smell like anything that ought to be consumed," he said again, but couldn't stop the sense of hope blossoming in the pit of his stomach.

It tasted like hot, salted death. Try as he may, he simply could not keep it down.

So much for hope.

Title: Predestination
House: Hufflepuff
Word Count: 100
Characters: Again, Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs, but this time mentions Lily
Challenge: Mauraders
Author's Notes: I wanted to do some deep, introspective Peter stuff, but this is as close as I could get.

Peter believed in predestination.

Sirius would do something regrettable and get himself into some serious trouble. Remus could withstand anything and be just as casually miserable as always. James would grow out of this cruel phase and become heroic, probably managing to win over Evans while he was at it.

And he, Peter Pettigrew, would betray them all, destroy everything their friendship was about, for fear and jealousy. For that was the lot of the tag-along, the devoted friend who wasn't up to the same level as the others.

In the photograph he was smiling, but his brain was screaming.

Title: Curious
House: Hufflepuff
Word Count: 100
Characters: Sirus and Remus, just a sneeze's worth of S/R
Challenge: Mauraders
Author's Notes: Because I'm whiny when I'm sick.

Sirius coughed and sipped the chicken soup he was offered.

"Are you sure about this, Padfoot?" Remus asked again, his brows knitted with worry. "It's a very easy spell, and you'll feel a hundred percent better."

Sirius shook his head. "No, I'm just settling some curiosity."

"Over what?"

"Being ill. My mother always said it that it would be unbecoming of a wizard of my status to be sick without being promptly healed. I've always wondered what a sore throat feels like, and how the sniffles really sound."

Remus grinned. "What do you think of it now?"

"It's bloody wretched!"
