Lonely/Caged

Notes: Imaginary conversation that Harry should have had with Sirius. Especially after Hermione’s quote used below (it’s from chapter 9 in OotP) which I happen to think is one of the saddest things I’ve ever read. Still not happy with this one.
No, I just think he's been very lonely for a long time.
Waging war on Sirius’ house, Harry could not forget Hermione’s words. Later, he found himself at Sirius’ bedroom, hesitantly calling out, “Sirius?”
Through the door, Harry could hear Sirius sigh, “Yes, Harry?”
“I just,” he swallowed, groping for words, “I just wanted to say goodnight.”
Sounding surly, Sirius replied, “Goodnight, Harry.”
“Goodnight.” Leaning his head on the door, Harry added, “I love you.”
“I know,” Sirius said quietly, “Now, go to bed before Molly kills us.” Comforted by the playfulness in Sirius’ tone, Harry left, lighter in spirit.

Notes: Another Sirius in Azkaban, this time he meets his cousin.
Leaning his arms on the cell door, Sirius called out, scathingly, “So, Crouch finally caught you.”
“This is a good look for you, cousin." Jerking free of the guards, Bellatrix framed his cell with her fingers, "I think I’ll call it ‘wild animal caged.’” Stepping back, she laughed as he lunged for her throat, “Too slow, cousin.”
Breathing hard, Sirius glared at his cousin, “When we get out of here,” he hissed, “I will kill you with my bare hands.”
Arching an eyebrow, Bellatrix laughed, “Sure you will.” Tapping his nose, she whispered, “You just have to get out first.”
