He moved silently, reverently into the dark room.
His room.
His heart raced as he ran his fingers over the smooth marble columns. This was his mother's legacy, the only thing a dead woman could offer her son. The thought of her slipped away as easily and painlessly as it had come.
At the end of the room was the massive statue, as promised--stone cold, unassuming, more dangerous than it appeared.
Tom smiled as he hit his knees, head bowed. The words escaped from his lips in an effortless hiss.
"Speak to me, Father, greatest of the Hogwarts Four."
