Hermione had positioned a chair by the door, and was glaring at her wristwatch fixedly. A hush had fallen over the Weasley household.
“You know, Ron can be an idiot?” Ginny whispered to Harry, “But I almost feel bad for him.”
Mrs. Weasley screeched suddenly, pointing at the kitchen clock, where Ron’s hand had moved from “Pub” to “Mortal Peril.”
But before they could react, Ron walked sheepishly through the kitchen door.
“Hullo, ‘Mione…”
Harry sighed with relief. The clock must be broken!
Then he heard the tap, tap, tap of Hermione's foot. Ginny started pulling him from the room.

Harry rolled over, covering his ears, trying to be a good roommate. He considered casting a silencing charm, but then they’d hear him speak the incantation, and after all, Ron and Hermione were his best friends, and they were being so careful to wait until everyone was asleep…
It was much harder to ignore when opera singing suddenly burst through the entire dormitory.
“Damnit!”
“Ron! What on earth?”
“I thought they were the Muggle kind!”
“Honestly, I told you leave the precautions to me…”
Harry bit his pillow to keep from laughing. That had to be Fred and George’s doing.
