Title: Memory
Rating: G
House: Ravenclaw
Challenge: Redemption
Characters: Lily, Baby Harry

Lily felt clumsy around Harry; his fragile body exposed her flaws. She wept when he wrapped his hand around her finger.

Holding his hand, she felt her life narrow until all she could feel was him. She knew, in the deepest part of herself where lay all her truest convictions, she would not watch him grow.

He would grow up without parents. How could she let him know that she would always love him when he was so small?

She picked him up and pressed him to her chest. How will he forgive her when she is only a memory?

Title: Sorry
Rating: G
House: Ravenclaw
Challenge: Redemption
Characters: dead!Sirius
A/N: It reads as an apology letter, but see it as Sirius trying to redeem himself.

I’m sorry.

I know my sorries cover everything from broken teacups to broken hearts.

But I am.

You asked the other night if I remembered when I knew I loved you. You asked with a little laugh, to cover how vulnerable you felt.

I laughed. I said didn’t remember things like that.

I lied.

I loved you from the moment I touched you until now.

I’m sorry for leaving you alone, for not watching my step, for being careless.

But most of all, I’m sorry for lying. I’ve always loved you, Moony.

Always.

And I am not sorry for that.

Title: Sacrifice
Rating: G
House: Ravenclaw
Challenge: Redemption
Characters: Hermione, dead!Harry (hey, a theme! 'Harry as a Christ-like figure')
A/N: Oo, pulling the Jesus out on you mofos!! Theologizing atheist in the hizzouse.

She didn’t talk for days when they told her.

It pounded mercilessly in her mind: he’s gone, he’s gone.

It disgusted her to hear them talk, to hear them celebrate his death. Yes, the threat was gone, the danger eradicated. But the cost was too much for her to bear.

“Through him,” someone had said, trying to convince her, convert her, “we are saved, don’t you see?”

In whom we have redemption through his blood.

That haunted her most of all. In her nightmares, a bleeding Harry stared at her with anguished eyes. He followed her everywhere.

She hated him.
