Title: A Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Waste
House: Ravenclaw
Words: 100
Challenge: Free Week!
Characters: Harry, Hermione, Umbridge
A/N: What a wonderful challenge, I have these odds and ends I've wanted to share. Missing scene from OotP.

“Detention, Mr. Potter, and fifty points from Gryffindor. Now, class, wands away, turn to page ninety-four, and please commence reading chapter seven, ‘Rudimentary Defensive Magic: The Underlying Theoretical Foundation.’ There will be no need to talk.”

While Harry couldn’t keep his mouth shut, Hermione couldn’t keep her brain still. As she had already memorized their useless text, she did other things in class - more subtle than Harry’s outbursts, and far more productive. O.W.L.S. were coming up, and she had no time to waste.

That night, Professor Umbridge awoke from a dozen nightmares.

Hermione had always been rather good at charms.
