"So. How long has he been standing there?" James plopped himself down in the grass.
"Twenty minutes. Maybe longer." Sirius idly ripped a few blades from the lawn and frowned. "Is it possible to actually bore a hole into the back of one's head with a stare? Because really, it's starting to burn. Maybe next week, he'll be able to stand the sight of the front of me!"
"Stupid pride."
Sirius' eyes blazed with validation. "Exactly! He should just stop hiding behind that tree and end this madness already."
James shook his head and chuckled lowly. "I meant you, Sirius."

It had required exhausting diligence, but Remus had managed to avoid Sirius for two weeks. He couldn't, however, plan his trips to the boys' bathroom.
He'd nearly been out the door when Sirius walked in. Frozen by the shock of the encounter, he held eye contact for a moment too long. Before he could get away, there was a hand on his shoulder.
"Moony, wait!"
In one quick motion, he pried Sirius' fingers off of him and swivelled around, seething. The echo from the tile only magnified the anger in his voice.
"You don't get to call me that anymore!"

He'd heard tossing and turning for what seemed like hours, so when his bed curtains were parted suddenly, Remus wasn't surprised to see Sirius standing before him, brow furrowed.
"Remus, I'm...I'm so..."
"It's hard enough being what I am without..."
"I know. God, I know." Remus could see tears shining in the moonlight, and despite himself, something gave way. He lifted his covers in welcome. Before Sirius could finish climbing in, their lips met in a crushing kiss.
"Missed you."
"Missed you so much. Can I? Oh, Moo..." He stopped, suddenly shy.
Remus smiled and flushed. "Yes, Padfoot. Yes."
