Romance didn’t come naturally to Scorpius Malfoy. It wasn’t something he had grown up around. Sure his parents loved each other, but he had never witness any kind of romance between them.
Romance was in Rose Weasley’s blood. It was something that she had seen in the marriages of her parents, aunts and uncles, and grandparents. Of course, there were some types of romance that she hadn’t seen (specifically those that happened behind closed doors), but she had witnessed her dad surprising her mum with flowers; saw the looks that passed between her parents; and felt the love that poured from them.
Scorpius had been embarrassed the first time he had seen Rose’s parents kiss in front of them. He and Rose had been invited for dinner and when they had arrived they walked into the kitchen and found her parents in a romantic embrace (her dad had surprised her mum with flowers).
Rose hadn’t been fazed by walking in on her parents. She had laughed and told her parents to break it up that they were embarrassing Scorpius. Her dad had shrugged, unabashed, and made a comment about how someday Scorpius would know how it felt to be so in love with a woman that he can’t help himself.
Rose deserved romance. Scorpius had taken the Malfoy route and showered her with presents.
Scorpius deserved romance. Rose had taken the Weasley route and surprised him with his favorite meals, love letters and other things that didn’t take a lot of money.
He loved the smile that crossed her face when he surprised her with flowers. Loved the surprise that filled her eyes when he walked into their bedroom with a cup of coffee, piece of toast and a little note on a tray in the morning.
She loved the smile that crossed his face when she thanked him with kiss that made her knees weak. Loved the surprised that filled his eyes when she joined him in the shower in the morning.
The romantic little moments outside the bedroom were fuel to the moments that they expressed their love physically. They fit together perfectly and moved together as one.
