Today
I have been uber lazy since Wednesday afternoon, which I am very proud about. There have just been too many tests recently, so I figured I was allowed to have some ADD right? Last night I went to the Filipino dinner that the Filipino club did. OH MY GOODNESS... SO GOOD. Yeah, that was exciting. Then I went to the Philodemic debate. I really miss that culture... the debate culture. Its so arrogant, and confident, and full of bs... isn't it sick the things I miss? The topic was "The United States should end the genocide in Darfur." So, the each of the two keynote speakers affirmed or negated the resolution and then whoever wanted to talk gave their opinion. Everyone was eloquent and smart and whatnot, but this is SUCH a logistical topic, and hardly anyone brought up evidence. OBVIOUSLY, we should try to end genocide b/c genocide sucks. But, CAN we? We don't have room to send a division to Africa... there would probably be a literal riot against the government if we told the American people we are sending our overstretched army to a country in Africa they probably haven't even heard of. So yeah, that was the policy debater speaking in me. But, it lit a little fire in my heart. Then I watched ER... its SO freaking depressing, but that's ok b/c I love it. I'm going to a cardio class today which should be an experience, then I am going to hopefully watch the debate with the republicans... and then I am going to my first college party! The roomie is DJing at a party, so a bunch of the girls are going to support her and make sure everyone else has a good time! The theme is highschool homecoming... we really don't know what to expect. But that's ok, we'll still hopefully have a good time. BTW, I miss you Ctown girls... I hope everything is going super peachily, and I hope that all of you can try to come to Butler for the 22/23 of October b/c I'll be there. LOVES TO EVERYONE!
