Tales by Moonlight

May 07, 2005 00:26

Every first friday of the month, Arinze Eze a good friend of my family, talented musician/filmaker/writer/poet/dancer/everything and basically a god in my opinion does a show called Tales by Moonlight at my moms restaurant. It's always really good; he sings, plays some jambe drums, does some poetry, plays a bunch of other instruments, showcases some of his new film projects, etc. The program changes every month so you can't anticipate anything besides that fact that you're in for a treat. Tonight was no exception. In Fact, I haven't thoroughly enjoyed an experience like this is SOOOO long. This time Arinze brought his whole band, invited two fantastic female Jambe drum players and a friend by the name of erik "quess" athavale. I immediately fell in love with Quess who is beautiful in every way: has a fantastic voice, is cute and an all around cool guy. I did not want the evening to end because I was having such a good time. My mom and Arinze are my heroes for coming up with this idea. Anywho...you can catch Arinze at the next Tales by moonlight for sure, but he's always doing a million things so keep an ear out for him or his band the PegAfricks. And Quess you can catch on May 30th at bar italia at 10 pm. Or you can pick up his EP (which i plan on getting tommorow morning) at into the music, music trader, vinylist or check him out at www.whoisquess.com

OH... tonight was nice.
