Okay, except for a few misguided moments, I thoroughly enjoyed tonight's Idol finale.
- Firstly and most importantly, THE RIGHT DAVID WON!!!!!!! DCOOK!!!! Suck on that molten hot lava bomb, Randy Jackson! I've never been so happy to be wrong about something! YAYAYAYAYYYYYY!!! (Will Cookie's brother get a finder's fee?) Yay for the Word Nerd being without words!!! Yay for singing the coronation song while wearing guyliner! Yay for the most deserving person winning!!!!!!!!! *victory dance* One thing though, I'm confused about why David sang a different coronation song tonight...anyone know what the deal is with that?
- OMG, almost all of the guest performers tonight had serious methface going on! What was up with that? Seal (well, his face always been jacked up...), Donna Summer, and Bryan Adams, omgwtf! I seriously wouldn't have known that was Bryan if not for the announcement. He looked horrible!!!!
- George Michael looked scary awful too! And his song seemed like it was never going to end, just like Archie's coronation song last night.
- All the group numbers tonight were fantastic. I was thoroughly entertained. I was lol'ing so hard at Amanda Overmyer during the Donna Summer medley. She looked like one of the Misfits from Jem. Oh, and Stripper!David singing "naked" during "Father Figure" brought the lolz too.
- I really loved Carly's and MJ's duet of "The Letter" but gah, MJ's stage moves are sooo cheesy!
- I'm so happy Jason got to reprise "Hallelujah" especially after the horrible way he was treated his last few weeks on the show. The performance was just as beautiful and sublime tonight as it was in March. Was it just me, or did he look exactly the same performing it tonight as he did the first time he sang it? I guess it was the hair, mostly. Weird!
- OneRepublic!!!!!!! Eeeeeee, Ryan Tedder! So much love! Why did Archie have to come out and ruin it? He didn't stick to the melody, and Ryan did, and the end result sounded shitty.
- Both Jordin Sparks and Carrie Underwood were dressed questionably. Jordin's shiny gold babydoll-style dress didn't flatter her at all, and Carrie...was she wearing a sheet? Carrie's performance of "Last Name" kicked ass, though. She's such a stah! The best part of Jordin's "One Step At A Time" performance was seeing Blake singing along in the audience. Blordin!! <3
- Speaking of Blake, LOL at him having COOK written on his knuckles! I need a screencap of that, STAT!
- DAVID COOK IS YOUR 2008 AMERICAN IDOL!!! YAYYYYY!! And he's a Guitar Hero too!
