Curves Tutorial

The curves tool is a great thing to know, but many tutorials don't explain how to use them. Since I was one of those people that felt disoriented when I came across a tutorial with curves, I thought I'd help the curves-confused.

I am going to sing the praises of Curves when it comes to dark screencaps and photos. I used to go a long way around to make my screencaps brighter, and this tool helped immensely.

I think it's a bit counter-productive when a person explains "Go to curves and use this, this, and this coordinate," because if you're using a different picture, the light is going to be entirely different.

I didn't understand Curves until I could only use Adjustment Layers for a photography contest. Then the lightbulb went on! ;)

I used to be heavily into PSP7 before getting 9, and I think a lot of the stuff is the same, but the layout is slightly different. I'm almost sure Curves are in PSP7, though.
