there are a few things on my mind today.

there's one question in particular that's been cling clanging around in my brain since yesterday. when did we become such parker snobs? when did we evolve into look-how-well-read-i-am, check-out-all-the-obscure-music-i-listen-to, i-have-an-opinion-on-everything, i-am-superior-to-you jerks?? i was thinking

I'm just saying this because "I have an opinion about everything," but:

Whats wrong with being well read, as long as you enjoy reading?

Whats wrong with listening to obscure music (though I sure as hell don't,) provided that you like listening to it?

Whats wrong with having opinions, if you can back them up?

Whats wrong with wanting to feel intelligent and cultured?
I wish I were.

And I almost forgot. People who come across as snobs are bad at hiding it.

but the thing is, even if they do genuinely enjoy reading or listening to those obscure bands, people WANT other people to know that they listen to certain bands and have read certain books. that's what i'm talking about. that, and the need to prove that you listen to MORE obscure bands and have read MORE critically acclaimed books than all your friends.

and i did notice, you big goon. but you have to improve your typing, or your spelling (i'm not sure which), before you'll really astound people.

Thats possibly the most rediculous thing I've ever heard that didn't come out of my mouth. Our unique education has not fundementally changed who we are. Such a fundemental flaw can not be attributed to any one thing, linking snobery to parker is akin to linking greed to judaism.
