Forcing the Font on Your Friends Page

Jun 16, 2002 21:01

Sometimes, a LiveJournal user will establish font settings within a particular entry, instead of using style settings (for instance, via an override) in the document head. When font is set within the entry, it can give a non-uniform look to another user's friends' view. Some users don't mind this, perhaps welcoming the diversity of style that the friends' view can take on, sometimes as diverse as the content itself. However, others would rather their own journal--even the friends' view--retain a certain uniform look and feel.
To force a uniform font type, size, and color on all journal entries that appear in a friends' view, the following override will generally do the trick--
FRIENDS_HEAD<= <=FRIENDS_HEAD
The parameters shown with yellow background can of course be customized to the settings desired by the host LiveJournal user.
Variable Reference:FRIENDS_HEAD Additional References:
  • Merging Your GLOBAL_HEAD Note the techniques described can be used to merge any variable, including FRIENDS_HEAD.
  • What are overrides? How do they work?
  • How do I change the font in my journal?

  • Only one override is permitted for each specific override block.
    If you are currently using a FRIENDS_HEAD override, then that override would need to be revised to reflect changes presented here or otherwise merged.
