listening recommendation
Any of you heard the Carlton and the Shoes album on Studio 1 called "Love Me Forever"? Ah man, some GOOD shit. I mean this is sort of a lost classic if you ask me. The single (the title cut) is pretty easy to come by, but my buddy picked up a copy of the full length LP when we were in JA and put it on tape for me (yes, this was awhile back when people actually still played cassettes). I wore that fucker out and spent FOREVER trying to get my hands on a copy. Back when napster was still doing it's thing I was able to snag some of the tracks, but the quality was shit and some were incomplete. I gave up for awhile, but years later turned up a copy on vinyl and actually the last time I was in Amoeba records in San Francisco, I walked in and they had like 10 copies on cd. Some of you may have heard of this already, but for those who haven't PLEASE find a copy. This is some of the best classic reggae I've heard. These guys sing like fucking angels, the melodies and harmonies are AMAZING and not typical at all, and the music is HOT. Catchy as fuck tunes too. You will NOT be disappointed. Word.
