I know I rarely update this thing, but I thought this story was worth it.
Today while driving to Floyd, Sarah and I get stuck at a stop light. It turns green and no one moves. We're a bit puzzled then we realized that people are backed up from the previous stoplight. After several cycles we begin to think something more must be up than out of sync stoplights. We were right.
Once we moved into the next intersection, we see the cause of the backup...There are two men standing outside of a pickup truck--in the middle of a lane--with screwdrivers and a slim jim. The keys were seemingly locked in the car leaving the two men outside of it. Understandable in a parking lot, but in the middle of a road in front of a stoplight intersection?? Our possible explanations are a) sheer stupidity or b) chinese firedrill combined with sheer stupidity. Either way, it's quite amusing to watch someone pick a lock in the middle of the road. Oh, and they had set flares in the road behind them too. We, in our big theatre Suburban ran over one of them...oops.
Any ideas on the reasoning behind the keys locked in a car in an intersection? Feel free to share.
Oh, and Caroline, if you read this, when you go to Floydfest, eat at Cafe del Sol on Locust St. in Floyd. It's awesome and veggie-friendly!
