Beauty and the Beast closes next Sunday, so we have only 9 more performances. My body hurts from moving scenery with a rather large person on top of it. And I screwed up my knee again while hiking.
We're starting to prepare for Always Patsy Cline so I've spent 3 days meticulously painting "Grand Ole Opry" on a mike stand on 4 sides. That's been lots of fun, but I'm glad I'm finished. I'm just hoping that we don't run out of props work and I end up in the scene shop--cause that would be hellish. Chris mentions that he is tired already of building circular platforms and flats--and they still have a lot left to go. The designer has decided that there will be a giant guitar cut out of the flats. I think the carps aren't thrilled. It will be weird to have the B&B cast leave and have an entire new cast move into the Atelier. Maybe I'll get my own room since it'll be fewer people.
My roommate and I have completely stopped talking. Our schedules are opposite. It's weird to think that someone else is living with me that I hardly ever see. We even work the same show at the same time, but on opposite sides of the stage, so basically in different worlds.
The interns won the battle of not having to work 13 hours a day. I think we've made some enemies now, but Ashleigh, Chris, and I are happier. We have to bond against those who think of interns as slaves and sub-human. Have I mentioned that that's getting old? I'm a human being with feelings and I'm better educated than most of these people as well. Stop treating me like some sort of unpleasant fungus who showed up or a slave that is here so that you don't have to work.
Now I'm sitting outside the stage door of the theatre in my blacks waiting for show #2 of the day to start. I know, how very cultured of me to be sitting in an alley outside a stage door.
I'm being attacked by bugs and actors and crew members.
That's all for now.
