Anyone watching the remake of V?

I am and I love it.
I am glad that more series are becoming less episodic, though I wonder if we will ever see the same poetry brought to the TV that, say, Battlestar Galactica did in its remake. Still, I think V has a shot. Each episode seems to top the last and it started out on a good, strong note, throwing us immediately into the story. I kind of think Dollhouse could of benefited from the same sort of beginning rather risking the even paced introduction to its world that took an entire season, which ended up costing dearly.

Anyhoo. V. It is made very awesome with Elizabeth Mitchell in the lead role. I first fell in love with her as Linda in the film Gia, opposite Angelina Jolie, and again as Juliette in Lost. Its interesting to see her as an assertive and confident FBI agent, something that particularly came through in this week's episode. I am definitely looking forward to more of her. :D

Obviously the crowning jewel of the cast is Morena Baccarin as Anna. The short hair? *dies* She's miles beyond Inara of Firefly. Inara was an unforgettable and interesting, multi-layered character, as were most characters in Firefly but it's already fascinating to see her as Anna in V. Anna is made up of layer after layer of subtlety and Morena is pulling it off beautifully. I especially liked the bit in this week's episode where she practices her speech she plans to give to that Air Force wife. The sugary, peace-loving, humble-pie façade is SO perfectly creepy! Morena totally pulls her character off - you get chills just looking at her, knowing what little we do about her true motives but at the same time you so badly want her to be speaking the truth about peace. Gah!

Story-wise, I know nothing about the original series and plan to keep it that way. Even if its vastly different from its predecessor, I want to experience this series with a clean slate and be surprised by it all.

Anyone else? Surely someone out there is watching this gem!
