I also have a few random currency notes as well and while those are cool I still like coins better. Someone wrote an article about this distinction once, the difference between a paper print and a small metal sculptural piece, how the longer-lasting coins tend to have more appeal for various reasons. *shrugs*

10 Pesos (1993/1994x3)
20 Pesos (1994)

Nepal
10 Rupees

United Kingdom
£10 - has Florence Nightengale on the back

So there you have it. I'm always interested in adding to my collection! :D

I'd like to get the different commemorative and bicentennial Canadian quarters - and the poppy one, too. I also don't have a $1CAN coin (loonie), either. :\ I also don't have a £1 (UK) either - and I seem to of lost my £2. :\

It's really fun to look through my coins. A lot of them aren't in circulation anymore, like my UK and Australian pennies - the Australia penny is HUGE, from 1943, and the UK penny is from 1927 and has King George on the back! :D The Zimbabwe currency is the most worthless in the world - so worthless it isn't even used. And all those old Mexican Pesos they don't use anymore, either. I like coins that are no longer in circulation - I feel like I'm saving a piece of history or something -- I found out they took in all the modern Australian pennies and melted them down to make the bronze medals for the Olympics! I don't have one of those.

I do collect US coins, too, though I haven't gone on and on about those. Mostly because they're commonplace to me since I live in the US and also because they simply aren't as pretty. But I have a lot of old silver dollars and indian head coins and I am collecting all the new state quarters, too. Coins are just fun. :)
